Sam Border lives with his crazy, trigger happy father (Clarence Border) and sickly little brother (Riddle Border). He has to deal with living in unfit living conditions, eating out of dumpsters, and seizing any chance he has at a job, after only getting schooling until second grade. Sam and his “family” move to a town, where Sam meets a girl named Emily Bell. Emily leads a normal life, with a normal family, normal friends, and average singing voice. Sam is not used to socializing, and finds it awkward when Emily wants to keep meeting up with him. One day, Clarence finds out about Emily, and he immediately packs his family up and they are on the road again. Emily becomes frantic because Sam didn’t mention leaving, and she turns to Bobby Ellis, who had fallen for her long ago. Will Sam come back? Will Clarence go to jail for his actions? Will Sam and Riddle live?
