Victoria’s Journalism Week 1

I love animals especially pets because they are nicer, make us live longer, and better for humans. I remember whenever anyone had a new pet even if it was tiny and always wanted to see it.

Myself, I have always had pets in my life. I have had 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 guinea pigs. Right now I have 1 dog and 2 guinea pigs. When I was five I had a medium sized stubborn Shiba Inu (Shiba Inu’s are medium sized dogs, with a curled up tale, come in blonde, and rarely black and live up to 12 years average) named “Jake”. He never knew any tricks at all (well kind of stay), he even had to go to the puppy training school several times ( I think like 2 or 3 times). He would bite you if you pet him on the head, he hated metal food, he wouldn’t eat out of it. But besides that he was a fantastic dog, he licked the spot where you had a cut or a bruise, curl right up to you when you were crying or just because. And I always remembered he was always full of joy, happiness, and energy. Even when he was 14 years old he would always get excited about walks, run down the hill to the front door after walks, loved the car, and he always wanted to play at night. He also played with a friend that was a big golden retriever and a neighbor’s 2 dogs.

I also had 2 cats. One was“bugs” a boy indoor cat with white and gray splotches. I remember, he used to lay on the top of the couch in the living room like any other cat. LAZY. He was nice, I never really payed attention to the cats because I favor dogs over cats. I don’t really like cats much, they scratch up your face and just sleep all day. And I had a black outdoor cat named Samantha who put dead mouse near the door or driveway sometimes.

  1. I like this post Victoria, I love how you express your love for your animals even though they are stubborn.

  2. Hi Vitoria, I’m Edward I just wanted to tell you how much I loves your story. I love the way you put detail about your experience with pets. I also really like your story about your shiba inu.

  3. I like how you not only showed the down sides to your pets, but also the fun and playful sides. I prefer dogs too, and I could relate to your love for pets. I have 4 dogs, 2 turtles, 2 fish, and 2 guinea pigs over here in California!
