book trailer: Holes

Jake and Ian

Stanley Yelnats is accused of a crime he never committed and is left with a choice of going to jail or working at Camp Green Lake, where warden makes the boys “build character” by spending all day, every day, digging holes: five feet wide and five feet deep. What they don’t know is that they are digging holes in order to search for a lost treasure hidden somewhere in the camp.

  1. I really liked your trailer for Holes. I have read the book and your trailer does a good job of describing it. I do think you should have put in why he is going to jail. It would help the reader understand the story.

  2. I really enjoyed your movie trailer it helped me picture the characters and scenery well in my head. I also enjoyed the music that went along with the trailer. You explained the book very well and I really liked it. Great job overall.

  3. Jake and Ian,
I really liked your movie trailer. I liked how you made it mysterious, just like the book is. One thing i would change is not giving away the treasure part. That was the main thing and seeing that you put that, it gave away part of the ending.

    1. Jake and Ian,
I really liked your movie trailer. There was good information that did not give anything away about the book but made readers want to read the book or watch the movie. I also liked the background pictures on the animoto.

  7. Ian and Jake,
I read the book Holes and loved it. I think your presentation does a really good job of describing the story line without giving too much away. I especially like how you started the trailer saying “Welcome to camp green lake” and how you narrated the beginning like you were there calling the camp as “here”.
