Jenna, Where Are You From?

Jenna, Where are you from?
Where are you from, Jenna?

I’m from rolling out of bed each morning and hopping on the bus, spending 6 plus hours in a chair, going to cheer practice, sleeping, then doing it all over again.

I’m from hanging out with family, flying a mini helicopter into a corn field- never seeing it again, making lemonade out of a lemon slice and sugar at a restaurant “may we have extra lemons please?”, and driving up to Rhode Island and flying a kite.

I’m from drinking soda and getting fizzy stuff in my nose, eating ice cream and crying of a brain freeze, wearing napkins as hats in a restaurant in Bermuda.

I’m from laughing so hard chocolate milk sprays out your nose, going to school as a superhero, watching scary and funny movies, then getting scared at night, eating candy at 12am, all with friends.

I’m from going to cheer 4 days a week, being sore all the time, and rolling my hair around little squishy cylinders- curlers- on the nights before competition.

I’m from playing with my two cats every night, trying to teach them how to open a door-then trying to teach them not to, shining a red beam of light on the ground and watching them pounce…

I’m that rolling out of bed, hanging out with family, soda drinking, laughing with friends, cheering, cat playing, do it all over again girl.

That’s where I’m from.

  1. Dear Jenna,

I loved reading your piece, your description was very good. I enjoyed the pictures the cheer picture was very cute, but I also loved how you did that first paragraph as like a sum up of your whole day, it really makes me think differently of you as a person and will make others see you differently as well. Also loved how you described soda, I would describe it like that too if I was going to.

  2. Jenna,
I liked the detail of you and your cats trying to teach the m tricks I would describe your felling when they don’t do what you want them to. I would also go in to a little more detail what you do at cheer.
