Rebecca, Where Are You From?

I’m from a family who loves pasta with my grandma’s famous sauce and sausage. Who has macaroni sunday once a month, with three cousin’s, one Grandparent, two Aunts and one Uncle. As we sit around two tables, kids and adults.

I’m from the two dogs that bark every time I come home from school. I excitedly say “hello boys”. As walk in the brown house that sits on top of the hill they beg for attention.  The loving companions keep me company as I roam around the house by myself.

I’m from the 13 hour drive to Illions twice a year to see my Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle and my cousins.  We go there during the summer and Thanksgiving. It is so fun when we go everything is so close their houses are a bike ride away there are parks blocks away.  And we have secret hideouts around the neighborhood.

I’m from a 5 person loving family, Mom, Michelle; Dad, Shawn; Sister, Sarah and Brother, Bruce. We all enjoy Baseball, Softball, BMX riding, taekwondo and Gymnastics.  Laughter and goofing around make our family more enjoyable.

I’m from Xtream Chaos a softball team were we all are so passionate and dedicated to the sport.  I developed a love for the entire team. We have pool parties on a hot day and end of the year parties.

I’m that pasta-loving, dog-owning, Illinos-going, family-loving, softball-playing girl

That’s where I’m from.

  1. Rebecca,
I loved how you described your softball team, Im pretty sure you are referring to your team as Xtrem Chaos which was really clever, if i’m wrong..sorry but then you have a really cool softball team name. And also enjoyed how you mashed all that your family loves together because it gives you a sense of closeness your family shares. Btw I can taste the pasta dish from out of the screen.

  2. Rebecca,
I thought your poem was really good. I liked how you were very descriptive. I really liked how you put “As walk in the brown house that sits on top of the hill they beg for attention. The loving companions keep me company as I roam around the house by myself.” because it was very great and cleaver.

  3. Your poem is really good. You included names and had good description. I especially liked the part where you said “The loving companions keep me company as I roam around the house by myself.” and “macaroni Sunday ” because it’s the same way with me.
