David, where are you from?

I’m from listening to Paul Simon at night and playing my guitar in bed till I fall asleep.

I’m from waking up early and stumbling out of bed to the car for early morning car rides to snowboarding day trips.

I’m from evening sunset longboard cruises and getting home in time for a bowl of cereal before bed.

I’m from the last night of vacation in the outer banks with my cousins and trying to pull an all nighter in the hot tub.

I’m from epic water gun fights in cape cod with my cousins and us trying to sneak up on my dad to shoot him in the ear.

I’m that Guitar playing, snowboard-tripping, sunset-going, vacation-loving, water gun-fighting boy.

That’s where I’m from.

  1. David,
I really thought your poem was very interesting to me. I can’t relate to these type of activities but you make the sound fun. I like how you added pronouns like Paul Simon. Also I like how you added great descriptive and transition words.

  2. David,
I thought your piece was very well written and told me a lot about you. I especially liked how you explained waking up early to go snow boarding and you are stumbling out of bed. The one thing I would add is more details.

  3. David,

I like how described whose music you listen to, Paul Simon. I like that you tried to pull an all nighter with your cousins. I also like water gun fights.

I liked how you listed some of your favorite activities, and I can relate to long boarding a lot. Next time I would think about adding quotes and going into a little more detail, such as, what are your favorite guitar songs?
