Letter #3 – The 39 Clues: One False Note

November 19, 2015

Dear Mr. Jockers,

My third book is The 39 Clues: One False Note.  This is the second novel in the 39 Clues Series.  This novel was written by Gordon Korman.  I decided to read this book is because after reading the first novel, The 39 Clues: Maze of Bones, I got very interested in the series and was excited for the next novel.  So let’s review The 39 Clues: One False Note! (If you want to see my review for the first novel.  Click here.)

Amy and Dan Cahill managed to get the clue from Paris, France.  This clue leads them to the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  The branch of the Cahill family Mozart was on was Janus.  Rivaling competitors in the clue hunt make it more difficult for them to put together all the leads to reach to next major clue.  This part of the clue hunt takes them to Vienna, Austria; Salzburg, Austria; and Venice, Italy.  At Venice, Amy and Dan run into Ian and Natalie Kabra, the most deadly rivals in the race for the 39 Clues.  Will Amy and Dan survive?

I personally did find one flaw with this book.  It didn’t have enough scenes with the Holts.  The Holt Family is also competitors for the 39 Clues. The Holts were only in one scene in the beginning but then they’re absent for the rest of the story.  But to make up for it the book has put just enough action as the first one did.  I don’t have the book anymore, so I can’t bring up any quotes from One False Note.  But overall I recommend almost as much as Maze of Bones.  So I rate it 9 out of 10 stars.

Peace out!
