Michael’s letter essay #3: Diary of a Wimpy Kid

11/19/15

I recently finished reading the first Diary of a wimpy kid book, a 217 paged graphic novel by Jeff Kinney. I decided to read the book because I started the series at the 3rd book and continued until the last so after that I decided to read the first 2. In the book the main character and his best friend Rowley, who makes him rethink his friend-ship choices, have a little bit of a falling out after Greg causes him to have a little injury. But when they end up seeing some mean high schoolers from earlier in the book it will either bring them closer together or further apart. In this quote Greg is talking about things he has learned from his brother Rodrick

“If there’s one thing I learned from Rodrick, it’s to set people’s expectations real low so you end up surprising them by practically doing nothing at all.”

I liked this passage because it reads as though your actually reading Greg’s diary and I think its a little funny. I would rate this book a 7 out of 10.

  1. Michael I liked how you loved the books so much that you decided to read the first two books. You put lot’s of thoughts into your letter essay, and you put lot’s of description into your introduction paragraph. What did you not like about the Diary of a Wimpy Kid? Was any of the books better than the first ones? It was a good essay and I learned a lot from it.
