Raymond’s Letter Essay #4: The 39 Clues: The Sword Thief

My 4th option for the letter essays is Book 3 of the 39 Clues Series, the 39 Clues: the Sword Thief!  I’ve decided to continue to review the 39 Clues Series.  Want to see the first two reviews so this one makes sense?  Click the links below!

Book 1: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1v6on8nQ8BkxB8MwFRsg1LOh2hfJkFAzB6f3vWfQ25GM/edit

Book 2: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MsTEWkihrE9jeA0RRcC914ZjWQkSI–vqSDGXO_5ors/edit

Amy and Dan get separated from Nellie, their babysitter who was watching over them during their travels (who is also a person I didn’t mention in the first two reviews.  Sorry!)  They left with no choice but to team up with Uncle Alistair, another competitor for the 39 Clues.  Their next clue is in Tokyo, Japan, which they barely manage to get with their lives.  But unfortunately, they run into the Kabras and are forced into an alliance with them.  The clue from Tokyo takes them to Seoul, South Korea.  Where they learn about the Philosopher’s Stone an element that can turn anything into gold!  The Philosopher’s Stone if believed to the treasure at the end clue hunt, but get in great danger trying to find out their next destination!

This book is had an epic ending and a great climax.  However, I have noticed something strange in the series…  The books are getting shorter!  Book 1 had more than 200 pages, Book 2 had about 170 pages , and Book 3 had about 150 pages!  But the is was still epic!  I give 9.5 out of 10 stars!

  3. Dear Raymond,
The book that you read sounds interesting. I like that you added links into the post for anyone to view. You also introduce some of the book which is also good. A couple things I think you can improve are make sure not to address the post (anyone can view it), try to include more for the summary, a quoted passage, and more of a reflection. Good job overall, and I might think about trying to read one of these books.

  4. Dear Raymond,
I really liked your entry. I like how you drew connections to your previous letter essay. I also liked how you explained the series of the books that you read and how you rated the book. This isn’t the style of book that I normally read, but your description makes makes me want to read it. I think that you did a good job.

  5. Raymond, I really liked your letter essay. I think that adding the links to the books was a really good idea.

  6. Raymond,
I really liked how you linked your previous letter-essays to this one; that is a feature that makes blog posts more interesting and interactive. Unfortunately, this letter-essay lacks information, particularly the Reflection. Remember to use your checklist; that ensures you get full credit for the assignment, I think.

  7. Dear Raymond,
Your letter essay was very unique and thorough. It was very helpful and clever to add connections and how you linked this essay to past letter essays. I thought you had a descriptive summary that would reel in any readers. Overall it was humorous and elaborate essay.
    From,
    David
