Recently, I fished reading the book Unstoppable by Tim Green(a former NFL player). I have read this book before so it was actually a re-read. I was very excited to get the chance to look at it again . I really wanted to read this book for a second time because I enjoyed it a lot the first time.

Harrison has gone through more than a few tough times. As a foster child in an abusive home, he knows his dream of one day playing for the NFL is not very likely. After he is able to escape the abusive foster home (you’ll have to read the book to find out how because I don’t want to spoil it for you),  he gets moved to another foster home. Then everything seems to turn around. However his new foster parents at his new home will do anything to let him achieve his dreams. He is brought into a new family that will support him. His new dad is even a football coach. Harrison’s big build and his incredible determination quickly make him a star running back on the junior-high team. But for Harrison, it can’t stay like this forever.

Harrison is such a big kid that I expected him to be able to stand his ground a little even though he never played football before. Leo Howard knocked him flat on his back. I was surprised that Harrison would get run over like that Because of his size and speed that he has. I think that the author is trying to say that even the best have to learn how to play.

I liked it when the author gives a play by play of the football game in the stories. The description makes it feel like you are the person carrying the football. Tim Green writes while Harrison is about to kick off. As Harrison prepares to run down the field for the first time in 1 year, “ He sees the lights, and his parents and the major(the one who helped him in rehab). He waves and they wave back. The Kicker starts the cadence and Harrison starts to run. He thinks to himself, he’s unstoppable(page:352)” Tim Green uses such detail in his writing to show you just how hard the character is working or even playing, that is why I loved this passage so much.

What I loved about this book is that the character had a problem. In most books characters have everything go their way. There life is perfect and there problem is that they have to get their friend back. Harrison Murdered someone. And much worse has happened to him. This book gives you the action packed novel with a little bit of drama. That is why this book is one of the best books I have ever read. It holds a spot on my special Bookshelf and why I give it a 10/10.
