Climate Change: Real or A Hoax

Climate Change: Real or Hoax?

Our planet is slowly warming up. We have acknowledged that our planet is warming, but yet we still don’t do anything. It’s creating havoc on our coral reefs, refuges for ocean creatures, and when it comes to the Antarctic. It doesn’t just create a land loss for creatures. Climate change doesn’t just affect The more our earth warms, the worse our natural disasters are. According to an Encyclopedia Britannica article, “Climate Change” by Stephan Jaxson” geologists and paleontologists in the 19th and early 20th centuries uncovered evidence of massive climatic changes taking place before the Pleistocene—that is, before some 2.6 million years ago. More evidence of this can be found in tree rings, ocean sediments, coral reefs, and in the layers of sedimentary rocks. This paleoclimate evidence reveals that the current warming is occurring roughly ten times faster than the average ice-age-recovery warming.

Did you know that most of the warming has occurred in the past 35 years, with five of the warmest years on record taking place since 2010 according to NASA’s article Climate Change: How do we know?

Some have wondered? What can we do to help? First, we need to get our world leaders to recognize that this is a real thing, not a myth like so many think it is. We should be using renewable energy, picking up after ourselves, and helping pick up trash on the beaches. Except so many of us don’t believe in Climate Change. One might think that animals and plants can adapt to the change in the climate. But no, it takes time and evolutions so that an animal can adapt to this world crisis. Did you know that most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives according to NASA’s article: Climate Change: How Do We Know? As well as Antarctic Ice is increasing not decreasing. In total, Antarctic ice shelves lost 2,921 trillion pounds of ice per year from 2003 to 2008 through basal melt, while iceberg formation accounted for 2,400 trillion pounds of mass loss per year.

This is not just hurting us. It’s hurting us, our animals, and the weather. Our Earth gives us so much, yet we take so much from it. It’s time for us to give back to our earth.

  1. I like the facts you have in your peace they look to be really credible and it is really clear about your side in the editorial.

  2. Your piece was very well thought through and wonderfully worded. Many people know how climate change harms our earth but many do nothing about it and we need to make that change.

  3. I like this one. Especially how you talked, it seemed like you were a professional. You spoke “Strong”!
