Bio-Poem: Mr. Jockers

Ryan

Patient, honest, industrious, dependable

Son of Thomas and Linda, brother of Erin

Lover of life, family, and the changing of New England seasons

Who feels thankful at the start and end of every day, comfortable in his own skin, and blessed to be doing what he loves to do

Who finds happiness in his children’s laughter, his wife’s smile, and a small cottage by a modest beach in Old Saybrook

Who needs a purpose, strong black coffee to complement quiet morning reading and reflection time, and at least one hot cherry pepper with almost every meal (except Taco Night: that would be a clash of cuisines)

Who gives love and guidance to his children (Paige, who is nearly 15, and Christian, 10), attention to the moment he is in, and far too much money to DirecTV for the amount of television he watches

Who fears God, snakes (those evil serpents!), and the direction in which the world is heading (but apparently people have always felt this way)

Who would like to see his children grow up happy and healthy and with children of their own, the high school soccer team he coaches to have a season, and a temporary worldwide ban on social media

Who enjoys playing the acoustic Yamaha guitar he got while in college (especially in the sunroom on rainy summer days), chess, and going on long runs on weekend mornings

Who likes to wear old, worn cotton tee shirts and shorts and sandals in the summer, sweatpants and sweatshirts while lounging around the house during much of the rest of the year, and button-down collared shirts with quiet ties at work

Born in Port Chester, N.Y., resident of Stratford
